HdeAway and Remote Desktop Connection

Hi Firetrust Support

Hideaway 3.4 (beta).

I should like to report an issue with HideAway and Remote Desktop Connection (RDC).
The scenario: Computer A has a RDC open to another Computer on the same IP network in the same locality connected directly by TCP/IP over cat 5 wiring. (in fact in this instance, the two PCs are no more than a metre apart and they connect through a smart switch also less than one metre from either PC).
Computer A starts HideAway and sets HideAway to "redirect all computer" and picks a remote host site "Los Angeles".
Once the button "Start redirect" is clicked the existing RDC is severed and the service is lost. Attempts to reconnect fail as HideAway wants to sent a local area (LAN) request to the Remote server (WAN).
Surely at least one of two things should happen on the button click operation:
1, advise the user that they will be disconnected from the RDC.
2, even better, allow for honouring of local connectivity that don't need an external server to make the connection and was established before HideAway commenced redirection.

regards

SeaCay

Version 3.5.0 has been posted. Right click Sys Tray icon >> Check for Updates >> if it says you have latest version, then just restart HideAway.

It includes some processing to ignore local network IPs, hopefully this fixes the issue
