Nick,

I have just discovered Hideaway and it looks like it could be a cool addition to my arsenal.

I am a bit concerned though that when Hideaway is turned on,and I attempt to update my Avast program to a new release of its engine, the updating program reports it is having problems connecting to the Avast servers. When I turn OFF Hideaway, the update then proceeds without problem.

I toggled Hideaway on and off a few times during the process, and each time Hideaway was activated, the software update of Avast stopped in error.

Is there some problem in my Hideaway configuration? I have the Beta version and it does not appear to have any settings at all except "activate/deactivate"

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris

Thanks for letting us know about this issue. We'll need to test and reproduce this problem. At first I can't see why it wouldn't update as it's just routing the connecting elsewhere.

Let me report back.
Nick
