I am having a problem with this latest upgrade.
No matter what I select in Redirect (all Computer or Firefox) and whatever location and then start Hideaway
https://www.grc.com/shieldsup and https://ipinfo.io/ both display my normal non hidden IP address.
Hideaway Status panel says connected , location points correctly to selected location and IP address displays
somethibng different to my real IP.
Have uninstalled and re installed with same problem. Have refreshed cache on browser.

Re: Hideaway 4.2.5 not working
Do you have another VPN installed and running on startup? The logs look fine.
Can you open a new private window in Firefox after redirecting HdieAway and see if that works?

Re: Hideaway 4.2.5 not working
I had Nordvpn running before but disabled it in startup and have rebooted several times .
Also disabled the TAP-NordVPN adapter as well. (didn't have to do this before!)
Opening another window didn't help.

Thanks. Let me come back to you after talking to the developers. It's odd because in this latest update we only added a notification icon to show when it was connected.
One thing you could try, uninstall HideAway, restart your computer, then install HideAway.

Did this twice , same problem.
Had disabled autostart of NordVPN (using CCleaner startup option) but not uninstalled it.

Re: Hideaway 4.2.5 not working
What version of Windows are you using, plus 32/64 bit?
We'll post a debug build for you to try soon to get to the bottom of this.

Re: Hideaway 4.2.5 not working
Could you please try this
Shut down HideAway (system tray icon, right click and select Quit).
download this
http://cdn.firetrust.com/downloads/hide ... y-test.exe
Then in the Explorer download folder, click the top of the address bar and type cmd and click enter.
That will bring up the command line window
type hideaway-test.exe 2 1 and click enter
Can you please screenshot or copy/paste the output.
Thanks

Can I get you to uninstall HideAway, then restart your PC and install HideAway again.
run sc query hideaway.
It should say
SERVICE_NAME: hideaway
TYPE : 1 KERNEL_DRIVER
STATE : 4 RUNNING
(STOPPABLE, NOT_PAUSABLE, IGNORES_SHUTDOWN)
WIN32_EXIT_CODE : 0 (0x0)
SERVICE_EXIT_CODE : 0 (0x0)
CHECKPOINT : 0x0
WAIT_HINT : 0x0
I wonder if your registry cleaner is removing some entries?

Re: Hideaway 4.2.5 not working
Are you able to test this?
It's a bit more technical, it involves removing the current driver and replacing it with a previous driver.
Don't start the HideAway program with the GUI, or this won't work.
Download these two files
http://cdn.firetrust.com/downloads/hide ... tupOld.exe
http://cdn.firetrust.com/downloads/hide ... -debug.exe
Run cmd.exe as Administrator
Type cd c:\Users\{your username}\Downloads
This will change the directory you’re in. My username is Nick, yours will be something else
Now type
HideAwayDriverSetupOld.exe -u
Restart Computer
Run cmd.exe as Administrator (like above)
sc query hideaway
Should say something like
HideAwayDriverSetupOld.exe -i
type
sc query hideaway
Should say something like
hideaway-test-debug.exe 2 1
Go to https://ipinfo.io see if it shows the correct IP address in Australia.

Re: Hideaway 4.2.5 not working
4.2.6 also failed as before.
Did following test:
Stopped the redirect and exited HA
Went into task manager and killed all instances of Hideway. (there were three )
went into my downloads and ran
HideAwayDriverSetupOld.exe -u (presume -u mean uninstall driver)
sc query hideaway showed service not installed as expected.
rebooted
ran HideAwayDriverSetupOld.exe -i (presume -i means install driver)
rebooted and ran HA 4.2.6 gui seemed to work. Could toggle hideaway on and off (although seemd to have to kill firefox and restart it
to get correct answer, maybe I am impatient and should have waited a bit longer as mentioned in one of the other posts.)
Will just do retest to confirm.......
So has old driver actually been put back into 4.2.6?
