Eudora - gmail password not accepted

I set up separate rules for Eudora.exe, chrome, and Mailwasherpro.exe. Mailwasher works fine for all my email accounts, but gmail does not work in Eudora, message says I have to login in a browser, but that doesn't help (gmail works fine in chrome). I do have the "less secure" option enabled. What gives?

And if you disable the Eudora rule everything works all OK ?
If you check the GMail account via the web, do you have any emails about accessing the account from another IP, they might need confirmation, though I would expect then too MailWasher being unable to check the account.
