v2.0.0 was released December 2014 it is now April 2016, has this app any future or are we just treading water?
If the project has totally died we need to know so we know where we stand.
Thanks

Realistically with the other projects you have ongoing are you going to get any proper development time for this app?

Not in the short term, it's a free app so priority is lower. That said, we have plans to develop an email encryption app and much of the user interface can be shared since it's a mail based application.

Am I correct in assuming that nothing else will be done to fix the problems that exist with the current version?nick.bolton wrote:Not in the short term, it's a free app so priority is lower. Not saying that, but we don't seem to be getting anywhere with the notification issues you're seeing and we've been devoting a lot of time to it.

Yes I remember you said this. We'll keep looking at it, but I feel we might be better to start all over

Been a while since I've been here and stopped using the mobile app some time ago. Nice to hear that something new may be in the works. I currently use TypeApp and used K-9 before that. Hopefully whatevver is being developed will be just as good and Android Wear friendly. Be more than happy to beta test anything you've got in the works. Still use MWP but find myself on my Android more, so somethings that works as well as MWP welcome.

Thanks, we've made an email client for IOS and Android - so that's progressing well. It's got Encryption built in, and we would need to add anti-spam capabilities to it so it can be used with Mailwasher features.

I do hope so.
The Andrdoid clients I have, including Outlook, are hopeless.

Is that a fully fledged email client?nick.bolton wrote:Thanks, we've made an email client for IOS and Android ...

Yes it is a fully featured mail client. What's hopeless about the others? I've tried quite a few.

Re: MailWasher Mobile v2.0.0
Outlook for Android is hopeless at remembering user credentials. Ask it to check several accounts – I have several – and it is forever demanding that I re-enter a password. But do that and it says that "the account already exists".
You can read some of these whines in the reviews of the Outlook app in the Android Store.
My complaint about Google's own mail reader is that I can't find a way to turn it off as the default mail client, but that is probably my incompetence. I also dislike its filing system, which can hide important messages away in one of its strange "folders". I mean what are Promotions and Updates? They are not filters that I created.

Re: MailWasher Mobile v2.0.0
AquaMail has been wonderful for me the past few years. It is hard to imagine switching. I don't mind the current system, which is very similar to the desktop procedure. Run retrieve with MW, wash, retrieve with mail client. The only complaint I have is the need for about five refreshes to get all the mail into MW and classified (on Android, not Windows). Is there no way to make a single pass work without having to use a new dedicated mail client?

Re: MailWasher Mobile v2.0.0
Aquamail looks interesting, I'll certainly give that a try. Since the current MW mobile is hosted, when you first do a swipe down it instructs the mail server to go and collect the mail, so it goes off and does that and depending on how much mail you have it can take a few seconds, then the next swipe down it will pull the mail down to MW Mobile. So if you're pulling down/refreshing a lot then it's probably in the middle of collecting the mail. You'll still be able to use the new MW Mobile like the current version and also use AquaMail, but it will just work better/smoother.
