I am a new lifetime purchaser of Mail Washer. I am experiencing many problems. Maybe someone can assist.
Program "hangs" often, usually just before finishing downloading emails or evaluating them.
I go through my mail selecting thumbs up, down, blacklist, white list, etc. When I get to the end and go back to the top of the list, all the blue icons that I checked to send spam reports are gone. I can't find a way to get them back. When I select Wash Mail, the spam reports are therefore not sent.
I checked the box in the IMAP settings to remember downloaded mail, but it doesn't. Every time I start the program I have to wait and wait while all my mail downloads.
Many thanks for any and all assistance!!

Re: Mail Washer problems
Thank you for the reply. I have sent the logs. Would it be better if I started a thread for each specific problem? Not sure what specific technical details I can provide, will be happy to supply whatever information you would like. Using new laptop with i7, 16 Gb RAM, 1 Tb SSD and Windows 10 Pro. Computer is flawless, no other problems. Takes MW 1/2 an hour to download my emails. The progress bars for download and evaluate are great, appreciate that I see the number of emails as the bar progresses. Washing mail does not have an indication of where it is in the process. I usually let it wash for 1/2 an hour or so and then stop it.

Unfortunately a couple of important fields which were needed to be inspected have been obfuscated (as highlighted below):—

Yes, I'm a big believer in security by obscurity. Not comfortable in publishing this info. The mail server and the connections to it work fine. MW connects and downloads the mail and deletes the spam and sends spam reports via the server. If you need this info I can provide it directly to you.

There is nothing sensitive in publishing the Server Address and the Server Port Number.mailwashnewbie wrote:Not comfortable in publishing this info.
The only sensitive field is the Username — you might want to delete your screenshot (have already deleted it from my own post.)mailwashnewbie wrote:Yes, I'm a big believer in security by obscurity.
It's not merely about connecting and downloading — 17k messages place a lot of load on IMAP (have subjected MailWasher to more than 26k mails through POP3 but never attempted that on IMAP which is inherently a very slow protocol.)mailwashnewbie wrote:MW connects and downloads the mail and deletes the spam and sends spam reports via the server.

Re: Mail Washer problems
Hmmm, didn't know there were limits for IMAP. Server and laptop have plenty of horsepower and storage, they sync in a matter of seconds when I check my mail. Much prefer IMAP to POP so messages stay on the server and are accessible from anywhere, anytime on any device. For now I just leave MW running all the time and put my laptop in sleep mode instead of shutting down. MW also syncs in seconds this way. Problem is when I have to restart the laptop, then it takes 1/2 an hour for MW to download again. If we could get MW to retain the messages, that would be the idea solution.
BTW, thanks for all your time and patience so far. Greatly appreciated!!
