Hi
I have been happily using Mailwasher with Pegasus Mail for several years, on Vista, then on Windows 7 Ultimate - all worked correctly.
Recently I upgraded to Windows 10 and am now running the latest release of Windows 10 and have run into a problem I am unable to resolve.
Mailwasher can no longer communicate with Pegasus Mail. Although Mailwasher recognises Pegasus and shows Pegasus Mail in Settings/Washing Mail, if I select the Pegasus option, Mailwasher is unable to open Pegasus from the Start Mail button, giving the error as shown in Clipboard01.jpg
If I select 'Use other application' in Settings/Washing Mail, Mailwasher will open Pegasus when the Start Mail button is clicked, but cannot communicate with Pegasus to send/forward mail or report mail to Spamcop.
Attempting to do so brings the error message:
This is very disappointing and I have been unable to resolve this. Any suggestions?
Rgds

I'd try reinstalling Pegasus Mail first, no need to uninstall, I would just reinstall over the top and see if that gives it a kick.
Another option, would be to try pointing MailWasher to a shortcut. For example, if you have a shortcut on your desktop that points to Pegasus Mail (and all works correctly) then in MailWasher when you select to 'Use other application', you can select to open that shortcut instead.

Hi and thank you for your reply. I tried this, using a working shortcut fails, on selecting the shortcut, Mailwasher simply inserts the target of the shortcut, the same as if selecting the mail program itself. Typing the actual address of the shortcut:, C:\Users\Keith\Desktop\winpm-32.exe - also fails with the same error as before.
Reinstalling Pegasus over the top again does not solve the issue.

OK. I've not got a Pegasus Mail setup right now, so these suggestions are taken from their forum.
Try setting Pegasus Mail as the system default mailer by clicking the "System mailer" button located in Tools > Options > Incoming mail > Hyperlinks.
Try running setpmdefault.exe as Admin (right click the EXE and select Run As Administrator) from same location as where winpm-32.exe is installed while winpm-32 is closed, and then restart winpm-32.

Re: Pegasus Mail & Mailwasher 7.11
I have Pegasus 4.72 on Windows 10 Home v1703 and MW 7.9 (not 7.11). The Pegasus button on the MW toolbar opens Pegasus just fine.

Just curious — why not 7.11?davews wrote:I have Pegasus 4.72 on Windows 10 Home v1703 and MW 7.9 (not 7.11).

Does the 7.11 not play well with Pegasus?

7.9 works just fine and there is nothing new for me in 7.11 so I have never got round to upgrading.
