How can I have the order of incoming emails _automatically_ sorted so that the newest email is at the top, the oldest at the bottom?
Thanks!

Yup, click on the Received/Arrived or Sent column, depending what one you have showing. Clicking on the column heading will iterate through it to sort ascending, descending then no sort.

That was already clear, thanks.
But when MW was closed and is restarted, my changed sort order is not reused.
How can I set MW to sort incoming email after program start so that the newest email is at the top or vice versa _automatically, by default_ ?
Thank you.

Re: How to change order of incoming emails by default ?
MailWasher saves the sort order on exit and if I recall every 5 minutes it auto-saves all settings. So it sounds like perhaps your file might be read only.
Try going Help >> User Files >> delete the file startup.xml >> restart MailWasher. Hopefully that gives it a kick.
If not, then go into the above again, but close MailWasher before deleting the file, then restart.

Your first hint did not solve the problem.
Trying to find the file "startup.xml";
I couldn't find it whether in C:ProgramData/Firetrust/..., C:Programms/Firetrust/... nor in C:Programms(x86)/Firetrust/....,
The general search in windows did'nt bring it up, too.
Where can I find it?

In MailWasher, click on Help >> User Files >> the folder that opens will have the startup file present.

I followed all the instructions: Unsuccessfully.
Maybe this topic is a small suggestion for improvement for the developers of MW?
I would be very grateful for a solution in any case.

There must be something wrong with your installation. Can you change your sort order in MailWasher, then go File >> Exit >> then restart MailWasher and go into Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter a brief note like 'sort order not saving' >> in the Ticket Number field enter chris >> Send Logs >> Reply back once sent.
Thanks

OK. If you right click on Received column heading and uncheck Group by Received, then you should be able to change the sort order properly and have it keep.

I hadn't activated the receiving column until just now.
I have activated it on a trial basis, checked "Group by Received", restarted MW, unchecked, restarted MW again: No positive result.
I had/ have the following in the column heading: "Attachment/ Category/ Delete/ Sent/ From/ Subject/ To".
Everywhere "Group by ..." was/ is unchecked.
"Received" is now deleted again.

Alright, install AnyDesk and send me your AnyDesk Address to forum@firetrust.com and I'll connect. Your logs are showing your sort order as being fine, so I need to see this to understand what it is.
