My wife and I just purchased identical PCs. We have a lifetime license of mail washer. I set up mine and reinstalled MW on it and works great. On my wife’s machine it has nothing but errors won’t pick up emails and I reinstalled it maybe 10 times. What could I be doing wrong? I’ve installed Mail washer many times over the years we’ve had it. It does show that it has a lifetime membership.
Thanks

Re: Picky mail washer
Can you try and send some logs from the wifes machine. If you go Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter a brief note like 'as per forum, claudster' >> in the Ticket Number field enter chris >> Send Logs >> reply back here once sent, so I can check the logs arrived all OK.

Re: Picky mail washer
Yup great, under Settings >> Accounts >> select the Incoming tab >> change the server address to pop.centurylink.net >> uncheck Store Cached Emails >> click Advanced >> set the option to use a Secure Connection (SSL) >> Save.
That will hopefully do the trick,

You can use the eye icon next to the password field to check if it's correct.
Re: Picky mail washer
OK, that's probably the wrong password. I noticed the server address that was being used looked quite wrong, so assuming MailWasher imported the password it might have picked up an old one, or some dodgy data.claudester wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 2:24 amDid it. Go to save and comes up failed to connect to server

Re: Picky mail washer
OK sure thing. Can you send another set of logs, same as above. That will tell us if MailWasher is at least able to connect now, as previously there was no connection being made to the mail server.

Re: Picky mail washer
Yeah, I think that's an old address they used to use. I can find a lot of references to that server address from years ago, but now it looks like they've got things merged into the one main server

Looking though, the error is happening immediately rather than timing out, so is there a software firewall on the machine that might be blocking MailWashers internet access ?
I also noticed there are two accounts listed with the same name, which might have been from a faulty import. So if there is two accounts showing, remove one, from Settings >> Accounts >> and restart MailWasher.
Thanks

Re: Picky mail washer
OK, so I would remove the account(s) from MailWasher, restart the program, add the account back in manually.
Any other security software on the machine ? Email AntiVirus etc...

I removed her account and re-added it to exactly what I have on my machine that does work and it still doesn’t work. We use Avast on both machines
