I'm getting an unknown error that Mailwasher is unable to determine the cause.
Have attempted a repair install but that didn't solve the problem.
Any suggestions?

Re: Unknown Error
Very sorry about the problems Mailwasher Pro is currently having, (all mail checks fail, corrupt database messages etc) our developer is looking into what is happening now, unfortunately the problem occurred on Sunday afternoon when no-one was available to look into what was happening, was entirely unexpected, and we're not even sure how its possible as yet.....!
Still currently unsure of the cause, but hope to have it resolved soon.
In the meantime, options are to either not use MW for the meantime, OR, use an older version as below.
If you wish to to do this:
* please uninstall your current MWPro,
* cancel the question asking why you are uninstalling
* click YES when asked if you wish to save your user data,
* install this version:
http://cdn.firetrust.com/downloads/mail ... _12_25.exe
And it should work fine.
If you could also please do not respond to this email unless still having problems with the above version and that'd be appreciated.
Cheers!

Re: Unknown Error
I have installed version 25, two of my accounts work but gmail says it cannot log in to imap server. I'm not sure if this is also part of the problem, all was good yesterday.
If i check manually (Thunderbird), it will download my gmail emails.
I haven't updated my mailwasher recently and yet i have this problem, does that mean the program must phone home regularly anyway?

Re: Unknown Error
Been a paid subscriber since September. Yesterday (11/11) it worked fine. Today would not connect with Outlook server. It says "Failed to login to server "outlook.office365.com"".
I tried installing the older version you suggested, but it would not grab my outlook email, that connection failed.
Has Microsoft cut you off? I heard from someone last September they were planning to cut out ability of companies such as yours to connect to their server.
I also have been unable to get this working on my iPhone. VERY FRUSTRATING.

Please understand, however, that even the big major software developers (Microsoft, Norton/Symantec, McAfee, Mozilla, Google, etc.) with their nearly bottomless pockets, 100s and even 1000s of beta testers with their scenario producing super computers, cannot test every possible scenario.
Consider this, within the first couple minutes a Windows computer is powered up for the very first time, it becomes a unique computer. Even 2 identical computers coming off the same assembly line, one after the other, do not remain identical for long. This is because we users immediately start to modify and configure our computers to connect to our own networks. We install our own security and other software, attach our own peripherals (printers, monitors, keyboards, mice, external drives, speakers, etc.) and their drivers, and most significantly, we "personalize" Windows to our liking with our own backgrounds, drive/partitions, taskbar and desktop settings and more.
In the case of MailWasher, we configure it to use our own email addresses on multiple mail servers, our own email clients, filters, blacklists, whitelists and other configurations.
So, with more than 1.6 "B"illion Windows computers out, it simply is impossible for even the biggest corporations to test for every scenario, and suss out every possible bug that might exist.
Two more points to consider. (1) This does NOT appear to be a bug caused by a recent update. I for one, have been using the same beta release since mid September. Something else caused this (not sure what - yet). Perhaps a certificate issue. Either way, it sure didn't help this happened over the weekend down in New Zealand.
And (2), I assure you, the folks at Firetrust are just as frustrated as you and the rest of us are - and are working hard to ensure the cause of this event never happens again.
I am NOT making excuses for Firetrust. This should never have happened. I am just saying, until Man can create perfection 100% of the time, there will always be unexpected events, premature failures, and any number of things intent on ruining our days.

Re: Unknown Error
For the record, there is a Beta Test team consisting of more than 2 dozen "volunteer" forum members (not Firetrust employees) as well as the in house team. So I can assure you, new releases are extensively tested (as much as possible) before they are released.do you test your updates before releasing them???

Thanks Bill!
As yes, it was indeed something that we never knew could happen, now we do, it should not re-occur...

Re: Unknown Error
After the "unknown error" message and mailwasher pro not working,
I made an update to version 7.12.188 and most of my mails reappeared,
but but no yahoo mails. Same situation as already this year where there
was the auth problem. After I changed yahoo to pop3 with an app
password. And now, same problem again, no yahoo mails with pop3.
Ok, I will still try to use Mailwasher but not want to loose more time on
this.
