How to adjust Hideaway's display size?
Since updating to Windows 11, HA now displays as a massive window filling the full height of my 4K screen. I don't like this at all. Can I alter it using the compatibility settings for the executable located in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\HideAway, and if so, which one/s should I select, please?

Oh that shouldn't happen. If you drag the corner of the window down to a better size, then it should stay that way when you exit and restart the app.

I already tried that. On reboot it always returns to full screen size. This is why I figured adjusting DPI sizing may solve the problem.

I have a 4K monitor too, but are you using large fonts or a larger scale?
If you adjust to a smaller size, then close it down (right click in system tray HideAway icon and close), then restart your PC, does it go back to the smaller size you adjusted to?

Re: How to adjust Hideaway's display size?
The default setting is 250%. I have mine set to 200%. I have not tried your proposed fix yet because it seems I have a smaller size than the default. This is what HA looks like on my monitor.
Another issue I have come across is that HA is set to start with Windows, but since the last 3 days, it doesn't. I have to launch it manually. Opening the startup apps, it doesn't even appear there which prevents me from setting it to Enabled.

Ok, we're building in persistance so the window size is remembered each time.
check/uncheck/check the "Run HideAway when Windows starts" to see if that fixes it

Re: How to adjust Hideaway's display size?
We just did an update and that should remember the window size from now on (once you adjust it), if you restart HideAway it will auto-update to it.
Windows associates system tray icons with the executable path and its process ID. When the executable path changes (as it does during a HideAway update), Windows treats the new HideAway.exe as a different application.
By default, Windows may hide the system tray icon for the new executable in the System Tray Settings (under Taskbar Settings > Select which icons appear on the taskbar). This is because Windows resets the icon’s visibility settings when it detects a new executable path, often moving it to the hidden overflow area (the "Show hidden icons" menu).
So more than likely it is auto starting, it's just hidden, can you please check that it isn't hidden in the system tray?

Re: How to adjust Hideaway's display size?
HA genuinely was not running after startup and it was not hidden in the system tray, which is what it is supposed to do. As there was no sign of it under the startup tab in task manager, even after I had launched it, I created a shortcut and placed it in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. This morning, it started with Windows and updated itself. I have resized the window and will let you know if it holds after reboot, although I cannot do that immediately.

I can confirm that the screen size now holds on boot. Thank you for the rapid solution, Nick.
