Hey
I'm seeking comments on a new forum theme, it's labelled 'prosilvertest', which you can change to in your board preferences here http://forum.firetrust.com/ucp.php?i=165
If it's acceptable we'll make this the default theme
Thanks

Re: New forum theme
That looks a lot better than the generic theme. Two things though.
The new post icon got shrunk back to its original tiny size before you bumped it up on the old theme.
The clock is going to be great but to keep from confusing new folks it probably needs a note telling them that it is in NZ time. Also is there a way to fiddle the time format to get ":"s in the time it is not very easy to interpret 025410 when compared to 02:54:10, the firetrust MW support page has it set that way. It wouldn't hurt to drop the seconds to clean it up even further.
I'll go play with it some and see if I notice any other tweaks.

Re: New forum theme
Another minor thing, on posts where there is an *Edit "Quote button it is slightly offset from its background but when you mouse-over it there is a quick realignment and color change.
Did the buttons shift to the right overlaying the Online banner?

OK, we are having some minor issues right now, we've lost our theme CSS and it's reverted to default for some reason, looking to get it back now.

OK, back to normality now.
The clock was me screwing around, someone who knows more about these things is doing it properly now.

I'll tweak that as soon as the placement is sorted.stan_qaz wrote:The clock is going to be great but to keep from confusing new folks it probably needs a note telling them that it is in NZ time. Re: New forum theme
The new posts indicator for the main page (papers in the folder) is hard to see as the papers blend into the background.

I love that clock, no more finger counting to see what day you folks think it is!

Re: New forum theme
So I'm inclined to make this the default theme now, we can work on the icon for new posts, certainly not a show stopper though
Am I missing anything obvious why I shouldn't ?

Re: New forum theme
Something got tweaked on the new post indicators, aside from the papers being added the new post folder is noticeably lighter in color than it was.
The only real issue that needs fiddled is the online flag being hidden but even that isn't a show stopper. I'd set it as the default at this point, anybody really hates it can switch to one of the other themes.

In your Board Prefs there is a Syndication option....I don't suppose swapping that helps ?Ikeb wrote:My preference would be that the RSS feed gets fixed.

Re: New forum theme
New theme now default, I deactivated Prosilver then reactivated as well, as that action forced all existing Prosilver users onto the new theme.....

Re: New forum theme
Looks nice in orange - if that colour is meant to show. Clock could be moved up a tad as it overlays the search box slightly.
