It only shows up initially and after that, I can see the previews of my email. It was GREAT information for the first few times, but I don't need/want to see it each time I initially start up MWP. Is there an option to NOT have to see this on initial launch? What am I missing?
In the next release, coming soon.

Sweet! Do you know if it will be selectable? I don't want to lose the "option" to have it since it does have some good links.

Hang in there Duck. A fix for that is in Beta as I write this. According to the grapevine (but don't hold me to it as I'm not the Engineer) it's projected to be released later this week if all goes well. :thumbsup

Keep in mind the time difference (his local time is at the top right of every page) and the strange hours he works. If you don't see him as logged on at the bottom of the page he is likely sleeping or engaging in some other form of slacking.

I'm not going to worry about the price or license stuff, that is an issue for the marketing weasels who I want nothing to do with.
Think he meant FatLizard. At least I hope so as I don't really have much more to add. Edit : Well I didn't until I started typing :facepalm

Time will tell, and I think we've at least found that interim balance as to not alienate many folk. The feedback we are seeing in Support queues is largely positive.
If it turns out we've cocked things up good and proper we are also in a position to act quickly, there are no shareholders or directors to consult, there are no investors we need to discuss with....and I think that's reflected near the beginning of this thread where we were able to quickly shift position regarding the amount of the annual fee.

It's my personal feeling that the first renewal anniversary most users will be...content?...happy?....with. I say that given by the time the renewal date rolls around they would have seen a *lot* of updates. We have one planned this week, another probably in a fortnight, then probably every 3-4 weeks depending...they'll see more and more features being added as we get them done. However, it's that 2nd renewal anniversary that I have some concern with.

<I can tell now I'm about to blather on>

Back in the old days there was something like 40+ programs on the market, and I think many were doing well enough, 2006 things slumped and we saw a massive consolidation. Many companies that had their own products dropped them and we saw more licensing of the stronger products, rebrands etc.. security suites began to build in filtering.

It got to the point though where we stopped looking at the competition, we couldn't find comparative examples for what we were doing (that we cared about). There were certainly alternatives, but so many we built in to the client or security suite they just didn't share that general operation that MailWasher has.

This too is reflected in the history of MW 5.x through 6.x. There was just nothing of great importance done, as I mentioned somewhere above there was no innovation. I suppose you always have limits on what you can do with a program that is effectively a grid, but MailWasher didn't need to push ahead as we weren't being swallowed by the alternatives. We had ideas for sure, but working with 7 year old Delphi code meant anything of significance was going to mean major rewrites, something which didn't sit well with anyone, that is what ultimately lead Nick to say 'Bugger it, let's start over.'

What I think is exciting about all this, is that it puts the onus on us to front up and deliver with things that truly add value. We still really couldn't care less what the competition are doing, but because of the changes we've made we need to push our own limits and concepts on what value MailWasher (and Firetrust) can add.

Will stop now, got a truck load of emails to get through :)

Can't seem to find a "Cat's Home Page". Is that was it is called? Home Page?

Hmmmm...Not a cat person...more of a dog person. Speaking of....how can we have a "Rustic Dog" and a "Cat Home Page" in the same program? :scratch

There are a bunch of other spam tools that could be added, some great enhancements to v6 spamcop reporting and allowing other reports to be sent, a really solid statistics package that included a lot more detail on just which tools were working, enhancements to improve the bounce function and reduce the risk of responding to forged spam, a backup/move/restore set of tools and a bunch of other things others have suggested that need cash to pay the programmers or they won't get done.

Funny you say that, was talking about that elsewhere.....think our dog would scare too many folk, though maybe a good upsell...Buy Now to remove Dog Graphic....

We'll check this out in the office tomorrow. With the crashing, have you been prompted to send a Crash Report ?

OK...got it. I was looking for something that actually said "Home Page". It is the Quick Links page. Thanks for the clarification.

Search as you type
Now you can search the inbox and recycle bin as fast as you can type. Easily find the emails you are looking for by typing something from the email address or subject, resulting in the instant display of any relevant emails. The Friends list and Blacklist also feature search as you type to find any email address quickly.
Any chance that future updates will allow the "body" of an email to be searched for key words? I don't always remember which email addresses or subject lines contain what I'm looking for, but I do remember key words in the body of a message. I think it would be more useful to have a key word search for the body of a message if not the subject line or email address as well.

Yeah, it's possible just more complicated. The fields you currently can search on are held in memory so very easy and quick, the new version however doesn't hold message body in memory, instead it calls to the engine for this information each time it's required. So a Search of the body wouldn't be able to be a search as type feature, nor would it be that quick depending on how many emails you have listed.
