I am running version 1.0.27 on Windows 7, 64 bit. I run MW minimised in the task tray. When I receive an email notification I click on the icon to maximise MW in order to check the email. If I then click on the "X" to close (and again minimise the window) then on occasion the window fails to minimise. Instead it changes to another window of the same size but with a smaller "X" and I cannot then close the window.
Sorry for the rather poor explanation. The problem seems intermittent and U cannot reproduce it to order. I'm trying to describe what happens from recollections of the problem.

Re: Version 2010 1.0.27 - odd behaviour when closing window
There seems to be a few folk having problems.
You could check if there's any updates for your graphics drivers, here's some links to common flavours which all typically have automatic scanners
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
http://www.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDHomePage.aspx (right side pick boxes for desk, note and work)
http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support?iid=hdr+support (US version) offers a detector and downloads.
http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/support/drivers/
I assume your on Vista/Win7 if so there's another option you can try under Settings >> Display >> General >> and select to disable Aero in MailWasher.

Re: Version 2010 1.0.27 - odd behaviour when closing window
I appreciate the suggestions. However, my display driver is up to date (Toshiba laptop) and I'm not really keep to disable Aero unless it's essential. Slightly tempted to go back to the previous version of 2010 which didn't give me these problems.
I note others have been having similar problems so rather hope the next version may fix them. Clearly "something" happened in the code changes made in the latest version.
Thanks anyway for the suggestions.

Aero is only switched off for MWP and not the entire OS
Going back has more bugs than the current version so I would not do that IMO.

Thanks for that very helpful comment - I'd not realised I could turn Aero off in the MW window alone but have now done so to see whether that fixes the problem.anniebrion wrote:Aero is only switched off for MWP and not the entire OS![]()

Stephen, do you have your TaskBar set to AutoHide ?

No, but turning off Aero in MW seems to have fixed the problem. I hope that helps in tracing it!rusticdog wrote:Stephen, do you have your TaskBar set to AutoHide ?

Re: Version 2010 1.0.27 - odd behaviour when closing window
I have just upgraded to 2010 and am experiencing the same as already described. For the time being, I have disabled Aero border in MW but consider this to be unsatisfactory fix really (if it does fix it.)
Typically the following...
Mail comes in
I choose to delete mail and so click on the trash icon for each line - nothing is not checked and nothing is to go to my mail programme, all items whether it be one or more items are to be deleted.
Click wash "wash Mail" and the mail is deleted, the border changes to a blue grey colour and the minimise/maximise icons are gone leaving on the "x"
Right click on "check mail" select Maximise, maximise and select the smaller window option then all correct icons are back and the programme can be minimised to the task bar.
This can be predictably forced.
Windows 7 x64 (Current up to date with MS)
Nvidia Geforce GT240 Graphics (Drivers up to date)
Intel Quad Core 2600 (overclocked to 3GHz)
8Mb RAM
Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 (up to date)
Please see screen shot

Log sent about 5 minutes ago...
I can reproduce this almost every time.
BTW it didn't happen with Aero turned off.

Sorry, I forgot to add, could you install this version first
http://mailwasherbeta.s3.amazonaws.com/ ... 102010.exe
It has extra logging around the area relating to this.
If you can install, make the issue happen and send the logs again same as before it would be much appreciated.

I have the latest version of Mailwasher pro and I have to manually close the program down when I want to shut my computer down. I have considered going back to an earlier version where this was not a proble.

Problem has been resolved in a later Beta version. You can either wait for the next release or use the d/l link in the prior post from RD which will correct the problem.kevin_c wrote:I have the latest version of Mailwasher pro and I have to manually close the program down when I want to shut my computer down.
