MWP and Windows 7

I just did an upgrade of components and from XP to 7. I'm not impressed with 7 and I am having trouble with the system tray icons. MWP doesn't show up there although I have gone into notifications frequently to set it. And I have had a freeze from MWP. Has anyone else had these problems?

No problems running W7 with MWP 2012. What version of MWP are you running. I assume you know about the auto hiding of the icons under the small arrow.

You should also make sure that MWP is "Trusted" by you security software.

I downloaded the latest version. The way I had it on XP (loved XP!) was that the MWP icon would pop up on the system tray blinking when there was mail. Now it keeps going into the "hide and don't show notification" status. I am sure this is 7's problem, not MWP's, but wondered if others had this happen.

All you need to do is click on the Customize line after clicking on the arrow, go the MailWasher Pro and select Show Icons and Notifications.

Nope.

BTW, in my MWP, there's a (reported) bug which makes the MWP icon appear at the SysTray irrespective of the settings illustrated above - I'm auctioning my copy, anybody like to bid.

That's not a Windows 7 problem (have never come across this in the last 4 years) - check the following figure.

Your icon cache in the SysTray Notification area seems to be corrupted. You may need to purge the same by using a .bat file - it's quite easy to create your own. The commands for the file are as follows:-

You just got to run it (by double clicking it) - I use this one on a weekly basis.

It looks as if Sidewinder and Trustfire have things "under control", and I don't mean to butt in (I am just a MWP home user, not an expert).

So, just to add a bit to their suggestions:
There is a tutorial for rebuilding the Win7 iconcache at the sevenforums: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/49 ... build.html
It includes 2 different methods -- a "batch" file akin to what Trustfire suggests, and a "manual" method.
I've used them both once or twice a long while back with no problems for an issue similar to what you are experiencing.
