How are Filters triggered ?

Fri Dec 28, 2012 1:30 pm

I had an INITIALLY sucessful first experience with a REGEX spam filter. Using Excel, I created a large REGEX filter, and HAPPILY, if performed perfectly on the first try, clearly marking a nukber of emails, as I specified in the filter design.

Howwver, being my first filter, I needed to make a few changes, so I redefined the filter. SURPRISE -- I found that my filter maked NOTHING. I then entered a really simple REGEX filter (just one item), and that filter also marked NOTHING.

I closed Mailwasher Pro, then restarted it, but AGAIN -- the REGEX filter marked nothing.

MY QUESTIONS --
1. Under what conditions doesdoes Mailwasher trigger its filters?
2. Is ther any way for me to manualy trigger a REGEX filter? If YES, that can I trigger all of them at once, or one at a time.

FINALLY -- The REGEX filter is a fabulous Mailwasher tool. As soon as I master how to use them Mailwasher willbe more valuable than ever. REGEX is my solution to junk and spam mail.

Two easy ways to trigger your filters, clear the grid and do a mail check or open the filter and then save it, when you return to the mail grid screen the filters will be run. No way to just run one filter except manually disabling the others.

Regex is incredibly picky so you may have an unintentional blank space or possibly a typo causing the problem.
