MWP does not download your actual mails - it only reflects a part of the message, in the form of headers.
The actual mails reside on the server before being downloaded into the e-mail client.

I'm using Bitdefender Free and there appear to be no settings that can be opened.

Unfortunately, I use neither BitDefender nor MBAM.
