settings for auto deleting of mail after proccessing

Sun Dec 08, 2013 11:05 pm

with my older version of mailwasher the emails were automatically cleared after processing them. Now with this upgrade I find that they are left listed until I manually delete them. How do I set up for auto delete after processing :

You can use auto-delete at 4 different depths — all of which function independent of each other:—

1. Filters:
  • Settings >>----> Spam Tools >>----> Spam Tools >>----> Filters >>----> Filters >>----> (select Filter) Edit >>----> Actions >>----> Override Delete >>----> Auto-delete this email >>----> Save.
2. Origin of Spam:
  • Settings >>----> Spam Tools >>----> Spam Tools >>----> Origin of Spam >>----> Options >>----> Auto delete >>----> Save.
3. FirstAlert!:
  • Settings >>----> Spam Tools >>----> Spam Tools >>----> FirstAlert! >>----> FirstAlert! >>----> Enable FirstAlert! >>----> Auto delete >>----> Save.
4. Spam Ratings:
  • Settings >>----> Spam Tools >>----> Spam Tools >>----> Spam Ratings >>----> Auto delete if rating reaches: (calibrate the required rating number) >>----> Save.

This is probably due to a setting in your email client. If you are familiar with your email programme's settings, look for something like "Leave emails on server" and make sure that it is unchecked.

If you aren't so familiar with the settings, let us know what email programme you use, and someone should be able to help you.

To ensure that mails deleted by your e-mail client are no longer listed in MWP, you can check out the graphical illustration of server settings for some of the more popular e-mail clients at the following links:--

The Inbox in MWP will clear on the first Check Mail after the messages are deleted from the mail server by you email application. If your account is set up as POP then you email app settings are in control of the actual deletion. If your account is IMAP then you have to use your email application to move the messages from the server Inbox to another folder.
