Confused about sync

Confused about sync

All of my email accounts are IMAP. As such if an email gets to my client and then MW deletes it it should disappear from my client email list. I think it used to, but now I see email in my client list that I know I would not want to get through, but I look at MW and it is nowhere; not on my green list and not in my Recycle Bin. A sync from my client changes nothing. It seems that it should be on my green list or Recycle list but instead is only on my client.

So I question just how Blacklist works. I have started putting pretty much everything on the blacklist. When mail comes to MW marked Spam and I tag it Blacklist it immediately disappears. I have Blacklist set to delete incoming black list items. Do they get deleted without showing up on the Recycle list?

No they should still show in the Recycle Bin.

These emails that are showing in the client and not in MailWasher, are they marked as Read in the client. By default MailWasher (if using IMAP) will only load Unread messages, so if they are tagged as Read they will not be retrieved.

Maybe I asked this wrong. When MW deletes anything from the MW environment, either Spam or Blacklisted, does it actually take that email off the server? If so, it should disappear from my client, even if it were already showing in the client. That is what sync means to me. Instead I see something on my client that I don't like, and it is still on MW in red. I tag it to the Blacklist and MW removes it from the MW list, but it is still on my client, so looks clear that it was not removed from the server. Removal is what "Delete" should mean.

Just to confirm, I went to the Webmail version of my account, which would have no knowledge of MW or my client, just what is at the server, and the Blacklisted email that disappeared shows up on Webmail, so is still at the server. If all Blacklist does is not show it to me that is of no value.

OK, solved. I had "Hide" checked under Blacklist settings. Unchecked it now actually disappears from my client when the client syncs, even if the email were already in the client.
