Hi guys,
I am fighting a losing battle against a new type of spam. This ostensibly shows no from address but if you look deeper they all seem to come form some play on the .de domain. An example is below:
Return-Path: <[email protected]>
Ideally I'd like to block these at server level but unfortunately Spectrum is next to useless and totally disinterested in any email support beyond absolute basics.
I don't have any legitimate contacts in the .de domain.
Do you guys have any suggestions how to get ahead of this and block these useless POS once and for all?
Thanks,
D

Yes, either set a filter to catch any email with:
.de
Anywhere in the header, OR a filter as below....
Click, Spam Tools>>My filters>>Add, and create a filter like this:
If the From (OR To) field does not contain "@" then mark the message as mail to be deleted.
Once you have it set up OK and are sure it is not marking good emails for deletion, you can set it to auto delete under the Actions tab.
If you believe that your filter is not working, the best way to test it is to wait until you get an email that you think should have been caught by your filter, then check and make any changes to your filter while the email is still in the Mailwasher screen, and if the changes that you have made to your filter catch the email, it will show as such in the Status column in Mailwasher.

A further question - is there any way of synching these filters across multiple devices? It seems like I have to set the filter up on each device that I use.

Not a problem.... and no, although you cannot sync across different PC's sorry, you can backup from one, move the file to the other and import it....?
To transfer your old data, on the first PC's MWPro installation click File>>Export, and save the exported file somewhere you can locate it to move it to your new PC.
Then, within MWPro on the new PC click File>>Import and import this file.
