Re: Loading Error
Great. One of your rules had some unexpected text in the rule name
which is likley what broke this. HideAway isn't doing a very good job sanitising certain fields right now, which is something we need to improve on.and <span style="background-color: initial;">site</span>

Re: Loading Error
Wow, I was going to ask what the problem was with the rule; thanks for that answer.
I've been noticing lately that copying from browsers, email, etc sometimes included multiple formats in the clipboard, so copying and pasting what looks like text can often have more "dramatic" results.
Aside: You might be able to avoid having to sanitize (or at least less frequently find changes necessary) if you can request a particular format (i.e. CF_TEXT plain text format) from the clipboard in the event there is more than one. Or at least if there's more than one, try avoiding the HTML variant. There's a GetPriorityClipboardFormat() function that can order indicate preferred formats and for these rules it's probably all simple text. And if you're already doing all that, ignore this, I'm not very familiar with the clipboard operations these days. I just remember running into this years ago, accepting the first format from a text copy from a Word doc and getting a "mess". Been a long time though.

Re: Loading Error
I now have this problem. I added a rule yesterday, and today Hideaway is permanently stuck on "Please wait while your Hideaway rules are loaded". I have closed and restarted the program, disabled firewall, disabled antivirus, and rebooted, all to no avail.

Sorry about the hassle.
Re: Loading Error
Have asked techs to fix, unfortunately I don't have the ability to correct this fault. Will let you know when it's done.chalkyw64 wrote:I now have this problem. Re: Loading Error
Great - all working now - many thanks.
Do you know if it was something I did wrong when setting up the rule which caused the problem?

Re: Loading Error
Same as above pretty much, your FCDN rule had a description of "Block <span style="background-color: initial;">Facebook Content Delivery Network</span>" which HideAway couldn't handle properly
Not that you did anything wrong, just copy/pasted some text.
It's something we have fixed for the next iteration of HideAway, hopefully we can get that out soon
