Wash Mail not working

I preciously used MailWasher (MW) with a POP account. I now have an SMTP account setting. Mailwasher's Wash Mail feature does not wash (clear out) the mail now. How can I get MW to clear out the "washed mail" with the SMTP setting?

SMTP is just for sending of emails, so won't be impacting this problem.
When you say the emails don't clear, do you mean that emails you retrieve in your email program, are still displaying in MailWasher ?

If so, what email program do you use.

You're correct, The emails I retrieve in Outlook still are viewable in MailWasher.

I use Outlook 2019.

OK great. In Outlook if you click on File it should bring up a window that shows your account, just below the listed email address it should detail if your account is of POP or IMAP.

Can you let me know which one of these it is.

Right, so then back in Outlook under File >> click the Account Settings button >> select Account Settings again >> with your account highlighted select the Change button >> then in the popup that appears uncheck 'Leave a copy of messages on the server' >> click Next >> Done >> Close.

You also might need to restart Outlook for the change to take effect. This will then mean when Outlook retrieves any emails it will delete the copy of the email on the server, MailWasher will then no longer load those messages next time it checks.

I followed your instructions, and restarted both programs, but it still doesn't wash the emails from MailWasher.

This change will only happen for messages that arrive into Outlook since you made the setting alteration, previously retrieved messages will still show in MailWasher, but you can just delete those.

OK, just so I'm clear on what's happening.

If you send yourself an email, Check Mail and load it into MailWasher, then download the email in Outlook, then back in MailWasher do another Check Mail, that message is still showing in MailWasher ?
And Outlook is set to POP, is MailWasher also set to POP ? You can check that under Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming.

I followed your instructions: sent myself an email then Check Mail and loaded it into MailWasher, then downloaded the email in Outlook, then back in MailWasher did another Check Mail. The email is still there.

Both Outlook and MailWasher are set to POP3.
