I delete emails in MW, but they are not deleted in Outlook 2019. My ISP is Virgin Media.

I delete emails in mw but they are not deleted in Outlook 2019. The email exchange server is Virgin Media. I have tried using Imap in MW and Imap in Outlook. Unfortunately, I can set MW to pop3, but don't seem to be able to set pop3 in Outlook 2019! I have tried numerous settings but no Joy. Virgin Media won't offer any help as they don't support Outlook! It seems a waste of money to have a product that doesn't seem to work! I must admit I am frustrated! Can anyone help? I am also new to the forum but not MW

Hi there


If you want to use POP, then you won't get that behaviour as Outlook using POP would download a copy of the emails off the server, but then treats the emails locally.
MailWasher would check the server, and emails you delete in MailWasher would delete off the server but it won't remove the local copy of the email Outlook retrieved.

To use POP in Outlook, you would need to remove the account and add it back specifying POP during the setup phase, there isn't a nice way to switch an account from POP to IMAP in Outlook.


So if you want emails you delete in MailWasher, to delete from Outlook, then both Outlook and MailWasher need to be setup as IMAP accounts.
It should work nicely once they both are, and it doesn't sound like that is happening. With MailWasher set to IMAP >> if you delete a message, then in Outlook click the Send/Receive tab and click Send/Receive All Folders >> does the email then disappear from the Outlook Inbox ?
