I have just set up Mailwasher for my wife's computer. She has a gmail address, and messages are downloaded to an email client (Becky). I have turned off periodic checking in the email client.
While things seem to work (after creating special password), emails show up in the email client before they are announced by Mailwasher. Am I missing something?
Thanks/Hans L

Re: Mailwasher for gmail
Yes, you'll need to set Becky to not automatically download mail, as it must still be setup that way, OR, the account is setup as IMAP, I'm not familiar with Becky myself, but if the account type is IMAP, most programs automatically download mail no matter how you have it set, the only option there would be to leave Becky closed when not in use, or set it offline mode (if it has that option?).
The only email program I am aware of that allows IMAP accounts to not automatically check for new mail is Thunderbird.....

Re: Mailwasher for gmail
Gingbat, thanks for the reply. When I download from Mailwasher, the messages that have already been downloaded to Becky disappear if marked spam or similar, so it is not too bad. I will check with the Becky community and see what they may have done.

No worries Hans, and yes, sounds like the account is IMAP, as it just mirrors whatever is on the server, the default in MW is to only show unread IMAP emails, so once the emails are read in Becky, they'll disappear from view in MW upon it's next mail check...
