Mailwasher Pro 7.12.173 opens a different application

When I click on the program icon in the system tray, it opens, but it also opens another program. Lately, it is opening my Graphics Card's control panel. Earlier it opened something else, up. I think it always opens up something else that has an icon in the system tray.

Any ideas why this is happening and how to stop it?

Possibly you are double clicking the icon? (it only needs a single click), and the second click opens another program..?

As I cannot think of any way this can happen actually....?

I thought it possibly might be a double-click thing too but I tried to duplicate it here, and couldn't. I tried it for every program icon I have in my System Tray. In each case the 2nd click was just ignored.

What version of Windows? And when did the problem start?

Windows 10 here. Its been doing this for a couple of months. I just decided to see if it could be fixed today.

Could always backup/restart/reinstall...

Backup first: File>>Export, save the file somewhere safe, (wont likely need it, but just in case)

Then uninstall MWpro and click YES to save your user data.

Then restart your PC and install MWPro from here:

I discovered that it was the double click that caused the problem. funny though, I double clicked for years without this happening. But if I single click, it works just fine.

If you double click on a different icon (not MailWasher), does it still open up 2 programs? Or only if you double click on MailWasher?
 
I wonder if a mouse setting in Control Panel > Mouse has changed or become corrupt? You might look in your mouse settings and hopefully there will be a "Restore Defaults" button.

As noted, double clicking a system tray icon should not pull up 2 programs, or even 2 instances of the same program. The second click should be ignored. So it seems to me that some setting somewhere is incorrect or corrupt.

Yes, Digerati is correct, that 'shouldn't' cause this but computers are weird....
