Outlook 365 and MW 7.12.173

Tue Aug 29, 2023 8:01 pm

Hi,

I've not been able to use MW on my Outlook 365 account (provided by hosts.co.uk) for ages, so when I saw the latest update, I thought it's time to try again. IN addition to my O365 account I have a hotmail.co.uk address which I also needed to update.

I've obviously got my knickers in a knot somewhere, because I still can't get Microsoft Authentication ot work on my O365 and now I've bust my hotmail.co.uk which keeps telling me I've logged out of my account and I have to basically go through the authentication process which appears to work and then fails to allow me to refresh my with a "check your username & Password" type error.

As a MW user of many years I want to continue to use it, but at the moment it's only filtering one of my 3 accounts

Yes, sorry about that, usually no issues like this... can you please check your web browser can connect to this link (for OAUTH authentication) and is not blocked somehow?

https://login.microsoftonline.com

If that does not work, something on your PC (firewall, antivirus etc) must be blocking access to this page...?

If it does work, can you please try deleting one of the problem accounts from MW and re-setting up as below? if it works, repeat for the others...

Please open Mailwasher Pro and click, Settings>>Accounts, click your account and click, "Remove Account", click, "Yes, remove it", close and restart Mailwasher Pro.

In Mailwasher Pro click, Settings>>Accounts>>Add Email Account, type any name for this account you like, enter your email address and click Save.

Click the Incoming tab and click "Sign in with Microsoft", follow the prompts and you'll be asked for permission to allow MW access to the account, ensure you agree to this.

If it shows successful, click Save again on the outgoing tab then you are all set....?

Thanks, the login to MS worked fine, I'd tried the deletion of the account but hadn't restarted MW after!

Same problem here, but the solution does not work. OAuth Authentification hangs on browser initialization. Any ideas?

Likely due to a issue with MW, we have fixed it in the latest beta, you're welcome to email support at firetrust dot com and we'll send you the link.... not keen to post it publicly as yet....

Same problem and thanks, solved when I turned off the firewall.

@cenat:

Welcome to the MailWasher Forums. You do realize that you responded to a post over a year old . . .

The current version of MailWasher 7 is: 7.15.41. You should update MWP if you are still using 7.12.173.

Have a great day.

Regards,
Phil

I had a similar issue and found that completely removing the Outlook/Hotmail accounts from MW and re-adding them with the new OAuth2 option finally solved the authentication loop.
