MWP 2010 has started behaving oddly. This morning, 3 known good mails arrived and the program spent a long time evaluating a message. In the end I stopped it. At no time, even after I stopped the evaluation did the Wash Mail button become usable, it remained greyed out, yet Thunderbird managed to collect the 3 mails without me doing anything. When I opened the program the mails were there. I didn't see any collection activity at the bottom of the screen, maybe I missed it.
Is 'automatic' washing part of MWP or what? I thought I decided what to wash?

Re: Wash Mail greyed out
If Thunderbird is set to download mail automatically, in the account settings, then this was most likely causing a clash with MWP.
You should only manually download mail into thunderbird once MWP has totally finished processing.
If the above is not the issue try turing FirstAlert off and see if things get better. There is an outstanding issue with FirstAlert that is on the fix list.

Yes, I did have T'bird set to download automatically but it has always been set like that. I have now turned off FirstAlert and so far things seem back to normal behaviour!
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Wash Mail greyed out
Having TB set to auto download (at a specific timed interval and not just at TB startup) means that it can grab emails before or during a MWP session
This you have more chance of spam hitting your TB Inbox<s>
I always process in MWP the click the TB button (next to the wash button) to launch TB and then download into TB.

Re: Wash Mail greyed out
Do you mean you deal with the mail but don't use Wash Mail? I've never tried going straight to the Tbird button. I have 'Automatically download new messages' ticked, 'Check for new messages every nn minutes' unticked, and 'check for new messages at startup ticked' Is that OK?
Just to complicate things further, I clicked on the MWP icon, as it was flashing, up came the screen showing 3 mails but with a message box that said 'Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation'.
Hmmm. Is this Eurospeak or what? MWP is locked up, I can't do anything with it, I can't even shut it down. I will need to use Task Manager to shift it. Yes, that did it, I can use it agin now.
What happened there?

That's OK if you always ensure mailwasher has removed all the spam before launching TB.bertie11 wrote:Do you mean you deal with the mail but don't use Wash Mail? Go to the Help menu and click "Send Support Logs" enter chris as the ticket number, add the URL of this thread in the description and rusticdog will hopefully be able to see what went wrong.Just to complicate things further, I clicked on the MWP icon, as it was flashing, up came the screen showing 3 mails but with a message box that said 'Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation'.

We fixed the same crash when it happened to someone in the Recycle Bin, I assume/hope that same fix applies to when it happens in the Inbox area too.bertie11 wrote:Blimey, that was quick!
Thanks rusticdog, downloading now.
