SOLVED - MWP 2010 - constantly crashes my video driver

MWP 2010 is almost unusable on my machine, it constantly crashes my video driver, and frequently crashes itself.

I am going to uninstall it tomorrow, is there any trouble shooting I can do to help identify the problem?

I used the option to email the error logs from MWP to you, don't know if that helped you?

The attached image shows the error message after a crash - the crash completely blanks my screen for a couple of seconds.

The graphics card driver was OK
Updated driver for "Intel Graphics Accelerator Driver" and MWP 2010 now works fine!

Is your driver up to date ?


I would have thought the problem is the driver, not MailWasher.....our logs won't tell us why your driver is crashing.

It's a Vista problem.

I tore my hair out with it for ~16 months and finally gave up and purchased a Win7 system.
I had a Dell XPS 420 which was sold with a hideously underpowered video card, for starters.
OS patches and driver updates partially resolved the issue, but it never disappeared.
I don't game, edit video or use any graphics-intensive program.
Google you error message and you'll see there's a lot about it.

It only happens with MWP 2010 which I installed yesterday, so I don't see how it is a Vista problem?

I'll see if I can update the drivers before I go back to the old version of Mailwasher.

MailWasher just might be the program that triggers the issue.

There are a lot of folk having issues

I've only briefly read the posts but it would seem if the graphics are being put under strain, in whatever circumstance this is, it can happen. You could try going into Control Panel >> System >> Advanced System Settings >> under Performance click Settings >> set to "Adjust for best performance" >> click OK >> OK.

Those steps are taken from Windows7, but it should be roughly the same
