MW Pro not very responsive

I recently upgraded from an older version to the new Pro2010. I have read some of the threads here and while they are similar to my experience, they don't quite provide a solution.

The start up is considerably slower than before and I accept the fact that the new version is using some additional software causing this - if it is once a day on boot-up I can live with this. However, I also find that normal operations are slower and often if I want to use the preview function, MW is not responsive. It takes 5-10 seconds before I can read / evaluate the highlighted message. Shifting to another message is causing the same delay. Pressing the Wash Mail button sometimes minimises the program immediately, sometimes it takes 10 seconds or more. I notice threads talking about the program freezing , fortunately this has not happened yet though it is far less responsive than the old version.

Are there any config options that should be tweaked?

As I am using MW on a production pc, I don't really dare to use any beta software on it.

I'll also wait for a later release. Oddly, 1.0.19 seems to slow down after downloading and processing a few dozen emails. It will stall on a function for quite some time. I can't tell you how long because I just go on to other work.

The fix? Shut it down and start again. But, it's not 1995 any more. I'm willing to work with you guys, though. Get 'er done!
