Two questions about MWP 2010

Fri Sep 03, 2010 2:43 am

First of all, I learned a lot reading through some forum questions and answers. Thanks.

I still have two "issues". One is that I see that everyone seems to be using version 1.0.19, but my version seems to be 1.0.1, and when I try to update, I get a message that my software is up to date. The other is that a small amount of mail is getting through to my client (Becky) from my primary email address (I have two) without my having seen it in MW at all; this was not happening in the previous version.

Any help would be appreciated. None of these issues is a dealbreaker.

Let us know how that goes with the second issue too and if there's any improvement.

Thanks. Here's what I found so far.
I did just go to MWP. There were three good messages. I hit wash mail. Those three ended up in Becky, PLUS this one
Medical Assistant Training <[email protected]>

So....doesn't look like that second issue has been fixed by the new version....???

Okay, I just sent to messages that way. One from my primary and one from my second email address. Turns out I was mistaken about the issue being only on my primary email address; just one one came through on the secondary address, so I also did a "send logs" from that address.

So, nothing has changed.

Messages are still getting passed to my email client without ever showing up in my inbox at MWP.

What would/could be causing this?
It's annoying.

First, do you have your email client set to download messages when it starts up?
Second, do you have your email client set to download messages periodically e.g. every 10 minutes or so?
Third, when you get ready to do a Wash do you initiate a manual check of your accounts with MWP immediately before you click Wash?

It's always a good idea. The time that elapses from the last check until you finish reviewing/classifying is plenty of time for new arrivals. Also after MWP calls you email program don't wait too long to do the fetch or some more may sneak in under the wire.

Okay. I guess it's the other side of the other issue I have with MWP, which is that every time I SEND an email a bunch of messages get brought directly to my email client without stopping at MWP at all.

Sorry I'm not familiar with your email client but maybe another Beta tester or member can provide some help. Check the options in your email client to be able to Send a message without downloading any new messages. You may be able to get help on a forum for the software or Google the issue. MS Outlook is what I have for my client (from corporate days) and it only does a Send.

Just to be perfectly clear MWP does not set between the mail server and your email client. Both independently access the mail server(s) directly and independently. MWP functions to clean the server before the email client does it's downloading. MWP has no way of preventing your email client from doing its thing.

Ah, thank you for the clarification of how MWP works. I did really visualize the messages going through MWP on the way to my client (Becky). I will see if I can get Becky to behave better.....
