I received and update from support stating the problem was at their end and should be resolved after restarting Mail Washer.
I've asked support and additional question does that mean we are now able to upgrade to "7_12_173" without any issues? just waiting on an update to this question.

This morning I started it up like I usually do. I was surprised that I didn't have a single piece of email. I opened my Yahoo mail client and sent myself a test email and it went thru. I then re-engaged the FireTrust and just got a normal email and it came thru after it tested it and it works fine now.

I have the same issue.
7.12.173 was offered about a month ago, I accepted it. Immediately after the install, with no other changes, the new version started and closed within 30 seconds. Re-tried multiple times then, and each few days thereafter. Always the same failure. Tried again today, still aborts quickly after startup regardless of other activity (which there was none today) . Today, I fully removed 7.12.173 and re-installed it - same issue STILL occurs.
We've been using MW since the early 2000's. We are totally dependent on it. Fortunately, the upgrade went onto my laptop. It was/is Win 10, fully up to date. I only use it when traveling, and when apps like TurboTax demand it. Also fortunately, we found the issue before 7.12.173 was offered to our two Windows machines. We have been declining to update them until this is fully resolved. We use our Windows machines very heavily every day, we have a serious spam problem well-resolved by MW, and we simply cannot afford to let them go down. These machines are using Win 7, and have always worked well with MW 7.12.125, and those before.
THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE SOLVED QUICKLY. Obviously, others have the issue, and, in my case, a clean re-install does not resolve it.
How can I get 7.12.125 quickly?

Yes, that actually sounds like a different issue to what others were reporting.... windows 7 is unfortunately unsupported now so gets no further .net updates, (which is often the culprit with MWP crashing immediately on startup), so I'd recommend reinstalling .net first from here:

Restart your PC afterwards and see if that helps first.
If no better, yes, you could try uninstalling 7.12.173, restarting, then reinstalling the .125 version from the above location:

Today it is crashing again - disabling FirstAlert does the trick again (enabled it a few days after my earlier post here, Sept. 7 and worked fine until now).

OK, so it's only crashing with FA enabled? if so, just leave it disabled, we're still working out if we are going to keep it running or not.....

Correct. However, after a few days, enabling FA again, it worked as usual, again - until now. MW crashed (which I didn't realize, though I saw some DOS (?) window flashing), so I restarted it - then it crashed while checking mail. So, quickly stopping check (at start-up) and then disabling FA, solves it.

It happens sporadically and lately 'often' if I simply sight-click on the email preview.
Sometimes it just does not respond, then it responds and freezes again.
I also tried older version of Windows = same problems.
I am really TIRED of this. Too many problems and I am guessing all since Mailwasher started using Windows Edge Webview2... another Microsoft excuse to involve itself in anything you do to try and lure you in using THEIR applications!
Microsoft is TOO much trying to be Apple, in that sense.
Can this application been fixed once and for all?
